The music industry is fast booming following the rise of hit songs, international collabos and awards in Ghana.Ghanaian music is gradually becoming a force to reckon with in Africa and in turn making musicians in Ghana quite a lot of money.

10.Tinny


Tinny also know as Nii Addo Quaynor, born on January 19th, 1982 at Accra, Ghana. Tinny is the CEO of Kankpe Records record management.

Tinny is one of Ghanaian popular Rapper, who has graced so many events and his songs dominated radio and TV in Ghana. Since his debut in the music world in 1994, he has released five albums.
Tinny has won several awards, performed in local and international shows, campaigned for Cadbury and was listed as one of Glo Ghana’s Ambassadors in 2009.And Tinny has made a lot of money from music,building two mansions at a very young age.

9.Efya


Efya came into limelight when she participated in the maiden edition of the Stars of the Future talent show and since then she hasn’t relented.

Jane Fara Fauzzier Afia Boafowaa Yahaya Awindor known as Efya is a daughter of Nana Adwoa Awindor, filmmaker and a host of a late television show.

She has performed in many musical concerts, events, won numerous awards and also makes money from several digital platforms, including iTunes and Amazon

Aside making money from music, she is one of the few Ghanaian celebrities who was born to rich parents.

8.D Black


Born Desmond Kwesi Blackmore, D-Black entered the music scene close to a decade ago but became a house hold name when he released “Oh Vera” in 2012.

He is the proud owner of 5 companies. A record label which houses six artists, event company, an advertising firm, a night club and a recording studio. He also has a 6th company “Oases Pool Lounge” which will be launched in August.

D Black owns two very expensive cars. A Range Rover and Benz C350 he acquired in 2016. The cost of the Benz C350 he said is around Gh150,000.The rapper had also disclosed that he has ten bank accounts which are fully loaded with cash.

7.Stonebwoy


Considered as one of Ghanaian leading dancehall artiste. Stonebwoy started music as a high school student enrolled himself on the popular rap competition “Kasahare Level” on Adom FM alongside Sarkodie, Dr Cryme. He won the BET award in the Best International Act (Africa) category at the year 2015.

Ghana Livingstone Etse Satekla AKA Stonebwoy was signed to Samini Music record management High-Grade Family (HGF) where he recorded his first hit single “Climax” featuring Samini …..

He is currently signed to Zylofon media and also has his own management group called Burniton Music Group. Stonebwoy performs between 30 – 50 yearly both from local to international shows, awards and couples of endorsement deals

6.Becca


Rebecca Acheampong better known as Becca is the first girl and fifth born of nine children.Born in Kumasi, Becca grew up in the UK where she became a Child care and education worker later returned to Ghana after several years abroad.

Becca is currently unsigned to her former manager’s Kiki Banson record label “EKB”.She got signed in a mouth watering deal unto the Zylofon media record label not long ago.

She has three studio album and has done collaborations with 2face, MI and South African group Uhuru.

5.Shatta Wale



Shatta Wale is one of the most influential Ghanaian reggae dancehall musicians. His hit song Dancehall King was his major breakthrough song in the music industry in Ghana.

Guinness Ghana Breweries unveiled Shatta Wale as one of their brand ambassadors in 2014. Shatta is the leader, CEO, and founder of the Shatta Movement.

He was picked as the brand ambassador of Guinness Ghana Breweries in 2014, along with some other musicians including EL, Reggie Rockstone, and Fuse ODG for Made of Black campaign.

He has been nominated and won several awards.From African Muzik Magazine Awards, Ghana Music Awards,4ste Tv Awards, Nigerian Entertainment Awards, International Reggae and World Music Awards, etc.

Shatta, the dance hall superstar was also unveiled as the brand ambassador for the energy drink, Rush Energy Drink.

He recently bought an apartment worth 1 million dollars which made headlines in a lot of the Ghanaian media space.

4.Fuse ODG



Fuse ODG also known as Nana Richard Abiona, born on 2nd December 1988 at London is a British-Ghanaian musician whose hit songs like Antenna and Azonto attained worldwide fame. He is also one of the few African musicians to chart in the UK.

Fuse ODG raked millions of dollars from his Azonto video which was massively viewed on YouTube and was unveiled as one of the brand ambassadors of Guinness Ghana Breweries along with other musicians like Reggie Rockstone, EL, and Shatta Wale for Made of Black campaign.

3.R2BEES



Ghanaian hip hop and hiplife duo, R2Bees have released hit tracks like Yawa Gal, I dey Mad, Kiss Your Hand ft Wande Coal of Nigeria, Ajeii, Odo. Their songs have received lots of massive air plays on both radio and TV stations across Ghana.

Both born and raised in Tema, Accra R2bees have two studio album and they have worked with artists like Wizkid, Sherifa Gunu, Davido and Tinchy Stryder. R2Bees often sing and rap in native language Twi and Pidgin.

They own their own record management called R2Bees Entertainment.They have also partnered with Starboy Entertainment to take their music worldwide.

With countless awards to their name R2Bees have performed in countless shows both local and international, the duo group had dealt with RLG company worth millions and another one with Star Beer which is also worth millions.

Mugeez the other half of the R2Bees brand has a clothing line, Meridian Clothing at East Legon, where he also racked in some money from.

2.Okyeame Kwame


Okyeame Kwame is a Ghanaian rapper, actor and entrepreneur, he started his musical career with Daniel Kofi Amoateng in 1997 and parted ways in 2004. Kwame has his own record label “One Mic Entertainment” and a foundation for hepatitis B patients called Okyeame Kwame Foundation.

Okyeame Kwame attended the Anglican Senior High School in Kumasi, he later furthered his education at Kwame Nkrumah University, where he studied music and specialized in classical guitar, later graduated as a linguist.

He is happily married since 2009 to Annica Nsiah-Apau and they have two children together.

Okyeame Kwame has won many awards and endorsement deals, in 1999 he won Ghana Music Awards for Hiplife song Of the year, 2014 he won Ghana Music Honours for Hip life Legend and has campaigned for MTN Group, GT Bank, Coca Cola in Ghana.

1.Sarkodie


Sarkodie started out as an underground rapper.His zeal and passion to succeed helped him cross paths with his former manager, Duncan Williams, who helped launch his career.

Staying true to his identity, he is a big advocate of Azonto, a Ghanaian genre that is said to have been born out of Kpanlogo, a traditional dance.

Sarkodie appeared in the popular rap competition Kasahare Level on Adom FM’s as an underground rapper, he signed a record deal with Duncwills Entertainment and he dropped his first hit single “Baby” featuring Mugeez of the duo group R2Bees.

Ranked as the 19th most Influential Ghanaian by e-TV Ghana, in 2013 and 2015. Michael Owusu Addo better known as Sarkodie is the fourth of five children of his mother Emma Maame Aggrey, a single parent.

Sarkodie has racked up millions of views on YouTube for his music with his debut album and first single, Baby, among the favorites.

Mewu, the first single off his fourth album, Mary, sold almost 4,000 copies on the first day of its release in Ghana’s capital Accra. His hard work does not go unnoticed. Sarkodie was the first Ghanaian to win a BET award and has the most nominations.

He was ranked 8th on FORBES and Channel O’s list, “Top 10 Richest/Bankable African Artists.”In 2014, he also launched the music label SarkCess to empower other African artists.

Sarkodie was officially unveiled as Samsung Electronic brand ambassador in 2012 and also in 2013, he signed an endorsement with FanMilk Ghana.He is also in partnership with Tigo Telecommunications Ghana, a brand that sponsored the 2013 Rapperholic tour.
